Head of Commercial Operations
VenueCheck was started by a group of people who took a highly entrepreneurial approach to developing a unique application for the meetings and events market and has established a niche in selling market driven web-based solutions. To equip the company for its next stage of growth, a Head of Commercial Operations is now required. This new role will be responsible for ensuring that all sales activities within the company internally and in its field sales operation are conducted in a manner consistent with the highest business standards, and will hold operational responsibility for ensuring that the sales and business plan are delivered. In addition to offering the opportunity for a dynamic role in a fast-growing company, for the right candidate, this role is envisaged to become a director-level position with the possibility of shareholding.
Reporting to: MD
Remuneration : Base salary and bonus package to attract the best
Key tasks: - Ensure that all revenue targets are achieved. Ensure the establishment of clear reporting lines and management responsibilities within the sales and customer services departments. Ensure that appropriately skilled people are selected to carry out sales and management functions. Assist in the formulation of the firm’s business strategy and take responsibility for the delivery of sales objectives in a professional manner.

Location: Southwest UK
Candidate profile:
- Prior experience in sales management and/or commercial operations for a software or computer services company. Strong sales background and sales ethos, and strong motivation to achieve. Good team manager: knowing how to get the best out of people, how to motivate teams of people to achieve their targets. Ability to focus equally on the initial sale and the support service to the customer. Able to keep up with the pace of change: very adaptable, very assertive. - Track record of delivering strong growth in an early-stage organisation.
